Get ready for extraordinary adventure that combines the quality single pitch climbing on Tiger Beach Right with one of the most exciting multipitch routes in the region. This day promises a perfect blend of challenge, beauty, and adrenaline!
Itinerary for the day is tide and conditions dependent.
Morning:
After meeting the guides at the Cat Ba Climbing office and getting equipment for the day, you will take a small boat from Ben Beo out into Lan Ha Bay (20min). Warm up and enjoy the beach with fun, varied single pitch climbing.
Tiger beach Right is in the shade for the morning and has 8 high quality routes (+ 2 extensions) that range from 5a-7c.
Afternoon
After lunch you will start Screw Loose, 72m, 6a+. This incredible route starts in an impressive cave feature on Tiger Beach Left- stem up the corner past a large hanging stalactite and end up on a comfortable bench in the upper portion of the cave. The second (crux) pitch takes you up interesting and challenging tuffa features then traverses out through a small slot at the top of the cave and finishes with more stemming and technical movement to a hanging belay station. A short 3rd pitch takes you through a bulge with some optional crack moves to a belay on the slab below the final pitch. Finish up the route with fun climbing on progressively more overhanging rock to a large pocket at the top of the wall. Enjoy the view and celebrate the climb before doing 2 long rappels back to the ground/ boat.
At medium to high tides, you will start this climb belaying from the boat and at low tide you are able to walk to the base of the climb. This wall is in the shade in the afternoon.
